SIGNS AND WONDERS
“This generation is an evil generation; it asks for a sign.” – Luke 11:29
A white rose. A falling star. A rainbow in the horizon. Many people seek signs for different reasons. I myself have asked for signs. As a little girl, I would pray hard and ask for God to show me signs if He would answer my prayers. There were times when He did and times when He didn’t.

“Give us this day our daily bread.” – Matthew 6:11
I was running late for work. I wanted to get to work by 7 AM and be off at exactly 4 that afternoon for out prayer meeting. I had to be out of the house by 5:45 AM and it was already 5:15. I wasn’t even finished dressing up. Argh! The tension was building up.
The jeepney ride usually took at least an hour from my home to my workplace. As the jeepney merrily rolled by and stopped at every corner, I steeled myself from looking at my watch, wishing that the driver would hurry up.

It was November, seven months away from our scheduled trip to the US. Already then my husband broached about preparing documents needed for the trip. My children and I shrugged off the idea with more than enough time ahead of us. But my husband could not be discouraged by such nonchalance. He posted signs “Your Travel Documents please” at every nook and cranny, sent follow-up emails and added on “any documents yet?” after he had said “Good night.”
