GOD’S FAVOR
“Whoever is not against us is for us.” -Mark 9:40

A young, devout Christian led hist basketball team to win championship games both in his high school and college years. But even with this, he was ignored during the NBA draft days. After a long wait, he finally got a chance to join the New York Knicks — as a backup player. But with his team struggling, the unwanted basketball player got shot. He promptly went on a transcendent performance averaging 27 points and nine assists over a six-game stretch and took the sports world by storm.

In the Catholic community I belong to, we volunteers are called servants. Drilled into us is this culture of service as our spiritual elders remind us to serve Jesus and others wholeheartedly.

I’ve been serving in ministry for many tears now, and I can say that it is so much fun to serve together with like-minded people...
