TIME’S UP
“I have been speaking out of my great anxiety and vexation all this time.” -1 Samuel 1:16

It took me a total of 10 minutes to “grieve” over a particular situation, one that would bring uncertainty. But as I put my dependence on God, what came to me was, Ok, time’s up! Grieving is over. Move on now. The Holy Spirit assured me that everything would be fine. I even found it amusing that I quickly recovered from a seemingly negative situation. Besides, I would be wasting time in emotional land when I could just figure out solutions. And I was already excited about how God would again surprise me with a new way of doing things.

SACRIFICE
“Now this man used to go up year by year from his town to worship and to sacrifice to the Lord.” -1 Samuel 1:3

“God answered our prayers,” my aunt in Canada happily reported, “I will be grandmother soon to a set of twins and to a baby girl.”

My aunt had been praying for many years for her two married children to finally have kids of their own. While vacationing in the Philippines, she offered sacrifices by daily attending Mass, spending time in Eucharistic adoration and giving love offerings to the church. Indeed, the Lord was faithful that in barely two months, her prayers were granted.
