“When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place.” -Acts 2:1Pentecost. The day the Holy Spirit descended on the disciples of Jesus. The day we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit to the Church.
What strikes me in the passage above are the words “together” and “one.” “They were all together in one place.” I think this tells us that the Holy Spirit comes down on a united people, the Church. We have to be one with Church, one with each other in our faith in the Lord Jesus. Without this faith, we may not receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit...

“That night the Lord stood near him and said, “Keep up your courage!” -Acts 23:11It is not a good experience when people talk behind my back and misinterpret my actions. Over the years, I have encountered a number of situations — some painful, others absurd. But I have learned to handle these times by hanging on to the Lord’s Word in John 8:32 which states that “truth will make you free.”
And yes, the Lord had been faithful, especially during the times that I wanted to give up already. He would always create a way to assure me of His love and vindication. Today, when these things happen, I know they are a test of character...
